Community Involvement

MBNA Canada's Bank's community relations and donations programs continually reaffirm our longstanding commitment to assisting others. By supporting and encouraging positive community involvement and initiatives, MBNA seeks to improve the quality of life for people in communities where MBNA employees live and work.

Our programs help create opportunities for people who are disadvantaged, with funding targeted to initiatives in education, human services and health services. We also encourage our people to volunteer, and provide each employee with four hours of company time each month to volunteer with the community organization of their choice. In addition, the Volunteer Service Donation Award recognizes individuals who have contributed 40 or more hours to a specific community organization in a calendar year by making a $500 donation to that organization.

Partners In The Community

Community partnerships are the foundation of our program. Our involvement is as varied and diverse as the organizations we partner with, ranging from sponsorship of the annual Boys and Girls Club Awesome Auction to funding an early childhood literacy program at John Paul II Catholic School.

Partnerships with organizations in the Ottawa area include The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa, Children's Aid Society of Ottawa, LiveWorkPlay, Meals on Wheels, John Paul II Catholic School, Ronald McDonald House, and Ottawa Food Bank.
