Our community development activities include:

Bank Your Future

A programme developed by Junior Achievement Ireland and supported by Bank of America. This unique six week programme provides financial habits to 13-17 year olds equipping them with the skills to manage their finances which can, in part, help them to fulfil their potential as adults. The Music Factory

This is the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s (ICO) outreach programme and is an integral part of the MBNA Limerick International Music Festival which takes place every July in Limerick city. Last year with support from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation the ICO introduced the concept of free workshops in creative music-making for primary school children aged between 8 -12 years old, in the local area in the week prior to the festival. MBNA Limerick International Music Festival

We have been the title sponsor of the festival for the last six years. The festival which is regarded as one of Ireland’s leading music festivals in the mid-west is a testament to the dedication of the Irish Chamber Orchestra which brings together world-renowned artists, young Irish and international talent to Limerick for this all encompassing city festival. National University of Ireland (NUI) GAA Scholarships

Since the inauguration of the MBNA Scholarship Scheme in 1998, over 160 have been awarded and of these eight-one have played at senior inter county level with twenty-two having won All-Ireland Championship medals. The recipients are all keen GAA sports people and have excelled in the fields of hurling, football, camogie and ladies football. Click the link for more on the MBNA Scholarship Scheme.
