Chip & PIN
Whenever you use your MBNA credit card to make a purchase in a store, a restaurant or at a self–service booth, you'll be asked for your PIN.
3D Secure
When you make a payment at participating online merchants, you may be asked for your 3D Secure password before completing your transaction. It's just like Chip & PIN—only you will know the password, so only you will be able to authorise your online purchase.
Top Security Tips
- Either shred or safely file your bills—never throw them in the bin whole
- Never divulge your PIN to a human—it is for machines only
- Let us know if you're travelling abroad so we don't treat overseas transactions as suspicious
